Daniela Merolla

2013-07-13Daniela Merolla (Associate Professor in African Literatures and Media at Leiden University) has been appointed Professor in Berber Literature and Art at the INALCO, Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Sorbonne Paris Cité) in 2016. She is specialized in literary analysis and anthropology. Her work investigates the forces that drive circulation and appreciation of African artistic productions in North Africa (Berber) and West Africa (Ewe), including oral and written narratives, theatre, films/videos and artworks as well as novels, films and websites of Africans in Europe. A specific area of her research is the epistemology and history of Berber literary studies and the links between North Africa and Africa South of the Sahara.
