Daniela Merolla is specialized in anthropology and literary analysis. She is interested in the vast domain of African artistic productions (North and West Africa), including oral and written narratives, theatre, films/videos and artworks, and her work investigates the forces that drive circulation and appreciation of cultural productions in society. She lectures African Literatures (Department of Languages and Cultures of Africa – TCA) and has extensively published on gender, ethnicity and narrativity in African oral and written productions as well as in films and websites of Africans in Europe. Since September 2006 Daniela Merolla is also appointed as academic coordinator of the two-year Research Masters in African Studies.
